Legend Supporting Legends: A Small Start, BIG AMBITION
At Legend Water, we're more than just a premium Canadian alkaline spring water brand—we’re a community committed to making a difference. Our Legend Supporting Legends initiative reflects our dedication to mental health and addiction support across Canada. While we launched just six months ago and landed in our first stores approximately four months ago, we're already taking meaningful steps to build a foundation for this important program. And this is only the beginning.
Using Our Voice to Create Change
As a young brand, we know that while our financial contributions are still growing, our voice can already make an impact. We're committed to raising awareness and reducing the stigma around mental health in two key ways:
Increasing Awareness & Reducing Stigma:
Each Legend Water can prominently displays a prompt directing people to mental health resources, using our packaging to spark important conversations.
We integrate mental health messaging into events we host or sponsor across the worlds of youth sports and popular entertainment.
Our co-founder, actor Aleks Paunovic, leverages his platform and personal passion for mental health advocacy to amplify these causes in media interviews and public appearances.
Targeted Community Fundraising Campaigns:
We partner with retailers and community organizations to donate part of the proceeds from Legend Water sales to mental health groups in the same communities where our products are sold. This ensures people’s contributions support the people and programs where they live.
When sponsoring events, we collaborate with event organizers to raise funds for local mental health and addiction resources in the host communities.
A Heartfelt Start to Giving
We recently completed our first pilot project with Vita Health, a group of six grocery stores in Winnipeg, MB, during Men’s Health Month. For every can sold, we donated $0.10 to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba’s Men’s Program, an organization dedicated to "helping people help themselves." Vita Health matched our donation, and together, we raised $200 to support this vital program. You can check out more details and photos from this campaign on our Instagram from November.
As we continue to grow, our focus remains on expanding these efforts in communities across Canada. We’re currently working on a program for local sports leagues to support youth mental health initiatives for youth by sponsoring tournaments and generating proceeds from water sales to support Legend Supporting Legends.
Looking Ahead: Growing Together
We know our contributions are just beginning, but they’re heartfelt, grassroots, and intentional. We’ll continue sharing updates as we expand Legend Supporting Legends and build a network of like-minded retailers, partners, and supporters.
We’re excited for what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to grow this initiative as Legend Water reaches more shelves and more hearts across Canada. Stay tuned!
